This object will be on display at Tohono Chul Gallery. March 23 to April 29th

The photograph of Touno Basin was shot out in the Sierra Del Rosario, miles from the truck, late in the day. Wallace and I hiked back together in the dark; I remember the sound of owls. The image was printed on glass that I beveled and sand-blasted. The frame cut, fitted and glued. The steel clasps cut, shaped and welded. The plaster brushed in by hand and sanded, layer after layer.

…the number of hours that went into making of this seemingly simple object is unreal — and the imperfections that you see, reflect its maker.
