|object in private collection|

In my shop, I am surrounded by objects from many different places and times: books, old photos, rusty artifacts, poems, shells, bits and pieces of wood and bone. These keepsakes are a constant reminder to me of the divinity all of us are a part of – talismans that cultivate a vivid appreciation for the earth and the elegant bio-system it supports. Wherever I look, my gaze is caught by something potent and beautiful. These objects contribute to creating a sacred atmosphere in my studio, and it’s within this devotional space I make art.

This object was on exhibit @ the Davis Dominguez Gallery in Tucson, Arizona from May 25 to July 2, 2011 for the 19th annual Small Works Invitational.
